In 2011, after being diagnosed with manic bipolar disorder I started 2Polarities as a side hustle to help families in need cover the cost of counseling. I could see there was a need throughout our community and set out to serve families in desperate need of help.
The goal of 2Polarities has always been simple:
- To help cut the cost of families in need of counseling services. Most often 2Polarities comes alongside families when their insurance won’t cover their counseling needs or low income families who have no insurance or limited financial support.
- To help connect those in crisis with qualified counselors and therapists. We make these connections even when families don’t need financial support.
In 2020, while the world faced a global pandemic and a myriad of other challenges—my phone began to ring off the hook from people looking for help. My side hustle became a full-time endeavor and 2023 was our biggest year yet.
I’m thrilled to share the 2Polarities community—you—was able to provide over 320 hours of counseling services to families and individuals in need. Over $26,000 was donated to families who needed the help. Because I don’t take a salary from 2Polarities, we’re able to give 100% of donations to our counseling partners.
In 2024, we’re trending towards another milestone year.
I’d like to thank our corporate sponsors and individual donors who continue to donate monthly to our cause. Whether $5, $10, $100, $250 or whatever you can give—monthly donations continue to be the best way to serve this growing need in our community. If you’re looking for a new mission to give to this year that’s hyper-focused on North Georgia, click here.
We’re excited to share some new events and opportunities to get involved in our work (and have a good time doing it). One of the opportunities happens on Friday, May 17th at Big Door Winery in Canton, Georgia. Stay tuned for more information!
You’re not alone,
